I said 'God it hurts'
And God said 'I Know'
I said 'God I cry a lot'
And God said 'That is why I gave you tears'
I said 'God I get so depressed'
And God said 'That why I gave you sunshine'
I said god I feel Alone'
And god said 'That's why I gave you loved ones'
I said 'god my loved one is dead'
And God said 'I watched mine nailed to the cross'
I said God 'Where are they? '
And God said 'Mine is on my right and yours is in the light.
I said 'God it hurts'
And God said 'I know'

When is flattery just..?

In ancient Greece, the politically crafty philosopher Aristippus had learned to get along in court by flattering the tyrant Denys. Aristippus looked down his nose at some of his less prosperous fellow philosophers and wise men who would not stoop that low. One day he saw his colleague Diogenes washing some vegetables and he said to him disdainfully: “If only you would learn to flatter King Denys you would not have to be eating lentils.” Diogenes looked up slowly and in the same tone replied, “And you, if you had only learned to live on lentils would not have to flatter King Denys.”


In other words;

“Flattery is like chewing gum, enjoy it briefly but don’t swallow it”

Did the man from Macedonia, send and email saying ‘Come’?

Did Moses use a joystick, at the parting of the sea?
Or a sat-nav tracking system, to show him where to be?
Did he write the law on tablets, or where they really on CD?

Did Jesus really die for us, one day upon a tree?
Or was it just a hologram, or high tech wizardry?
Can you download a video clip, to watch on your PC?

Have the wonders of this modern age, made you questioned what is true?
How a single man, in a simple time, could offer life anew.
How a sinless life, a cruel death, then a glorious life again.
Could offer more to a desperate world, than the inventions made by men.

If in your life, the voice of God is sometimes hard to hear.
With other voices calling, His doesn’t seem to touch your ear.
Then set a side your laptop, modem, all your fancy gear.
And open your Bible, open your heart, and let the LORD draw near.
