About

Who, what, and why has ‘Walk to Glory’ been created for?

Welcome! I am Ian Straughan, a Life Coach and Therapeutic Practitioner. Originally from the North of England, I am fairly well-travelled and currently reside in South Manchester.

My journey with the Lord began in April 1989. Over the years, my faith has led me to study Gods word at Bible college, also to study for a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, and serve as a Director of Evangelism. Whether organizing university gospel concerts or forming open Christian fellowship groups at the YMCA for believers and atheists alike, my passion has always been building bridges and fostering understanding.

The ‘Walk to Glory’ actually began back in 1994. In those early days, it was a physical newsletter created on Microsoft Publisher and sent by post. It grew from 50 copies to hundreds, funded entirely by faith and the generosity of readers sending in stamps. Today, I am incredibly grateful for the internet—and for my longtime friend David Knowles, a talented front-end web designer in the Netherlands, who helped me transform my original ideas into this digital blog.

My goal here is simple: to produce encouraging, uplifting content for everyone who visits. While sharing my faith in a loving, light-hearted way is my ultimate aim, I have no intention of debating or causing offence.

This is a space for community. I welcome readers to submit their own inspiring work, as diverse views will keep my blog vibrant and interesting.

Please feel free to leave comments on my articles or reach out directly through the contact page. I sincerely hope this blog brings you joy and encouragement.

Thank you for taking the time to visit me here at the ‘Walk to Glory’.

I sincerely hope this Blog brings you joy and encouragement.
